JUNIOR ELITE ACADEMY
During our camps in the past number of months, it’s come to our attention that there is a gap in the Kilkenny region for junior hoopers to learn the game in a fun and safe environment.
Taking that into account we have launched our Junior Elite Academy September 2024, where players are being developed within age group and then level to ensure maximum impact. This will be delivered per session or at a reduced rate for a monthly subscription. All our coaches involved are top professional players and qualified coaches both Garda vetted, and sports Ireland sanctioned.
We strive to cultivate a lasting passion for basketball from an early age. In our academy, we not only focus on imparting basic basketball skills but also embrace an advanced pedagogical approach designed to adapt to the cognitive and physical development of each child.
Our Coaching Staff in Kilkenny
We have a team of highly qualified coaches who employ innovative and age-appropriate methods, fostering active learning, creativity, and holistic development.
Some of our techniques we implement include:
- Game-based learning: We use games and playful activities to teach fundamental basketball skills such as dribbling, passing, and shooting in a fun and participatory manner.
- Motor development focus: We design activities to improve children’s coordination, balance, and fine and gross motor skills, enabling them to develop essential physical abilities for basketball and other sports.
- Promotion of teamwork: We encourage collaboration and communication among children through team exercises and cooperative games, instilling the importance of teamwork and camaraderie from an early age.
- In addition to our pedagogical focus, we are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment where every child feels supported and motivated to reach their full potential, both in basketball and in life in general.
